The following states require a state-specific notary education course. The All-States Notary Education Course is NOT meant to fulfill the education requirement to become a notary in these states:

  • California
  • Colorado – EFFECTIVE MAY 1, 2010
  • Florida
  • Missouri
  • Montana – EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2010
  • Nevada
  • North Carolina
  • Oregon
  • Pennsylvania
The following states require a an EXAM to become a notary public. While the All-States Notary Education Course offers valuable information for notaries everywhere, it is NOT meant to fulfill the requirements of a study course for these states' exams:

If your state was NOT listed above, then your state does NOT require notary education course nor an exam when applying for a notary commission.

The All-States Notary Education Course has been designed to meet the educational needs of prospective and current notaries in the states that are NOT listed above. The objective of this course is to provide valuable information about the duties of a notary and the procedures for properly performing notarial acts.
