An introductory course on the general duties of a Notary Signing Agent—a duly commissioned Notary Public trained to present loan documents for signing, perform all necessary notarizations, and return the executed documents to the closing agent for processing. More than four hours in length, this course provides a detailed review of fundamental notarial practices and requirements, as well as sole proprietorship considerations and tips for working productively as a Notary Signing Agent. Includes an examination option for the “ASN Certified” Notary Signing Agent Designation, at no additional charge.

(An active Notary commission is required for the examination. Non-Notaries may take this course, then take the exam after obtaining a commission. This course is not a substitute for any state-required training to obtain a Notary Public commission.)

PLEASE NOTE: Despite the value that Notary Signing Agents bring to a loan document transaction, their activities are restricted or prohibited in some states. The most common restriction is that only an attorney licensed to practice in that state may officiate for the closing. This circumstance is commonly referred to as “attorney-only” states or signings. Please check your state's notary laws/rules for your state's requirements.
