Arkansas Notary Requirements and Information
Arkansas Notary Commission Qualifications
Notary applicants must:
• be at least 18 years old;
• be a resident of Arkansas OR a resident of a bordering state OR a non-resident spouse of a U.S. Military member employed or operating a business in the state of Arkansas;
• be able to read and write English.
• be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien;
• have not had a commission revoked within 10 years from the date applying;
• not have been convicted of a felony.

$7,500 Bond Required (10-year term)

Notary Seal Requirement
• Ink stamp or embossing seal required, paper notarial acts. Must be photographically reproducible. Blue or black ink only.
• Electronic seal required/specified, electronic notarial acts.
Authorized Duties
• Oaths/affirmations;
• acknowledgments;
• proofs;
• take affidavits and depositions (swear-in witnesses);
• certify (attest) copies;
• execute protests.
