Notary Commission Qualifications
Applicants must:
• be at least 18 years old;
• be a resident of the state of Hawaii; and
• be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national or permanent resident alien authorized to work in the U.S.
→A notary commission may be denied due to the applicant’s inability to read, write or speak the English language or on being addicted to, or dependent to narcotic drugs or derivatives of a similar nature.

*Recordbook must be soft-cover, and cannot exceed 11" high and 16.5" wide when fully opened.

Notary Seal Requirement
Ink Stamp or Embossing Seal Required

Authorized Duties
• acknowledgments;
• oaths and affirmations;
• witness document signings;
• attest to a document signer's identity;
• note protests;
• certify copies of the notary’s journal records (only).
