Mississippi Notary Commission Qualifications
Notary applicants must:
be at least 18 years old;
be able to read and write English;
be a resident of the state of Mississippi and resided in the county of residence for at least 30 days from the date applying;
be a citizen or legal resident of the United States;
not have been convicted of a felony (unless pardoned), not be incarcerated, on probation or parole.

Recordbook (journal) required. Only one active recordbook at a time.
Notary Seal Requirement
Ink stamp required; stamping device does not include a non-inking embosser or crimper. Notary seal image must be legible and photographically reproducible.
Authorized Duties
Oaths/affirmations;
acknowledgments and proofs;
take verification on oath or affirmations;
witness or attest signatures;
certify depositions;
take affidavits; and
note protests
