Iowa Notary Public Requirements

Iowa Notary Commission Qualifications
Notary applicants must:
• be at least 18 years old;
• be a citizen or permanent legal resident of the U.S.
• be able to read and write English;
• be a resident of the state of Iowa or be employed within the state; and
• not be disqualified to receive a commission under section 9B.23.
