Idaho Notary Commission Qualifications
Notary applicants must:
• be at least 18 years of age;
• be a citizen or permanent legal resident of the United States;
• be a resident of Idaho or employed in the state of Idaho;
• be able to read and write.

*51-122. COURSE OF STUDY. [Effective 07-01-2019] The Secretary of State (or a state-approved provider) shall offer regularly a course of study to applicants who do not hold commissions as notaries public in this state. The course must cover the laws, rules, procedures and ethics relevant to notarial acts.
