West Virginia Notary Commission Requirements

West Virginia Commission Qualifications
Notary applicants must:
• be at least 18 years old;
• be a citizen or permanent legal resident of the United States;
• be able to read and write English;
• be a resident of the state of West Virginia or of another state and is regularly employed within the state of West Virginia;
• have a high school diploma or its equivalent; and
• not be disqualified to receive a commission by the following: http://www.wvlegislature.gov/WVCODE/ChapterEntire.cfm?chap=39&art=4§ion=21#04.
